Measuring Population
The crude birth rate is the number of births per one thousand of the population and crude death rate is pretty much the same thing except, well..., with death. The rate of Natural Increase, RNI, is produced from subtracting death rate from birth rate. This gives us the annual natural growth rate - in percentage form - for a country or region. But, you can not forget about migration! The Net Migration rate is the difference between the number of persons entering and leaving a country a year. Immigration is when an excess of persons enters a country. The opposite of that is called emigration. Emigration is when an excess of persons leave a country. Immigration is written as a positive number (6.65), and emigration is written as a negative number (-3.94). People migrate due to push forces like civil war, environmental deg-ration, etc. People also migrate due to pull forces as well. Some of those pull forces are better health services, political freedom, freedom of religion, etc.
